A Message from Amazon Relay: Selfie Checks

As a reminder, all drivers hauling Amazon Relay loads must complete selfie checks when prompted in the Relay app. Starting in the next few weeks, solo loads will be rejected if the driver fails the selfie check at pick-up. Your company may have already seen these rejections for team loads. Some sites may see rejections go live later than others. Selfie checks help us confirm that only assigned drivers are hauling loads, preventing unauthorized access to yards.

What happens if one or both drivers fail a selfie check at pick-up? If drivers arrive with a trailer, they’ll be allowed to enter the yard to drop it off. However – if there is another load scheduled after the drop-off, the rest of the tour will be rejected and the carrier’s performance score will be impacted.
Here are the requirements for a successful selfie check in the Relay app:

  • The selfie shouldn’t be blurry or have a reflection of flash.
  • The driver’s face should be clearly visible and the photo shouldn’t cut off any part of the driver’s face. Pictures of photos are not accepted.
  • The selfie should include the full face, from the neck to about two inches above the top of the head, and both ears.
  • No part of the driver’s face should be obstructed by sunglasses, hats, headphones, or any other clothing, except where religiously required.
  • The driver should be looking directly at the camera with a neutral expression.
  • No one but the driver prompted in the app should be in the photo.
  • The selfie must be taken at the place where it’s prompted, in a truck-safe location, and not while driving.

We appreciate your cooperation in protecting our transportation network on the road and in the yard.
Sincerely,
The Amazon Relay team
